Coach's Corner
HELLO CAT! I hope this email finds everyone doing well this soggy Sunday. Lots of great stuff coming up in the world of CAT, please take some time to read through this email.
March Into Swimming thanks to all the athletes and parents that came out to support our young athletes on Saturday. What a great time that was for all. I saw a lot of personal growth and development in those athletes. Big tip of the cap to all those Adv Juniors and Senior swimmers that gave part of their Saturday to support their teammates after a big time drylands workout with Coach Brent. It makes me so very proud of you all to see that kind of support for the youngsters on our team. Seeing all of you there, cheering and taking a personal interest in what your teammates are doing is one of the biggest reasons that sport is important. That human touch and connection, crossing the age groups and training groups as it is on our team; a big round of applause to all that were there on Saturday morning. Thank you!
Practice Updates normal schedule this week, including mornings and Saturday.
8 and Under Champs!!! Is this weekend in Greenville, SC. The meet is Saturday afternoon and Sunday mid morning. If you have a free weekend it is a great use of your time, truly one of the coolest swim meets in all of the sport, and I've been to a bunch of them, nothing quite compares to watching these mighty 8 and unders swimming their hearts out. For those of you competing, I will have a meet update for you mid week. Please be on the look out for that.
Sectionals Championships congratulations to our six athletes that have qualified for the sectionals championships in the coming two weeks. This weekend Anjali and Bones will compete at the Senior Sectionals meet in Cary, NC at the Triangle Aquatic Center. Then the following weekend Subeen, Zane, Sofia and Micah will be representing the orange and black in Atlanta, GA at the G-Tech Aquatic Complex. Well done all!! CAT is with you, swim great and enjoy your experiences!
Palmetto State Champs is rapidly approaching. Please go to our events page and see whats going on with this awesome short course championship meet. This meet is open to all swimmers, please consider competing in this season culminating meet. A word about hotels from a parent on this team:
Especially for 11+ aged kids that may move on to finals, several CAT families are staying at the Home2Suites in Duncan (5 minutes from the pool) and are planning on carpooling to warmups. The hotel just lowered its price this morning and the rooms have full size fridges, mini kitchens, and sleep up to 6 .
Stay Focused, Stay Committed and good things will happen. I know it's been a long season thus far and we are closing in the completion of the short course season; let's stay on the grind and work with the coaches and our teammates to finish this the best way possible.
#OAR it's not a hashtag, it's a commitment.
Stay Frosty,
Big Show
