From the Board:

It's the 25th anniversary of the Death Valley Open Water meet and it takes all of us plus our family, friends, etc to host this event.  Please take the time to sign up to help at the meet.  There is also help needed at the open water practices and on Friday for beach clean up and set up.

Coach's Corner
HELLO CAT! The time is HERE. The 25th Annual Death Valley Open Water is coming this weekend, June 8th is the day of competition at the Row Beach on Clemson's Campus. Though, there is a TREMENDOUS amount of work that needs to happen in order to successfully pull this event off. This team and all of it's swimmers need all hands on deck (in this case, beach) in order to host the over 500 swimmers attending this year's competition. Please be sure to check emails often this week. In years past this event has gained notoriety across the region, let's show everyone what CAT can do!
Practice Updates:
Monday and Tuesday this week are normal schedule AT FIKE. (Tuesday morning at CCRC)
Wednesday and Thursday PM ONLY: Normal Schedule but AT LAKE HARTWELL
Friday: Practice will begin at 4:00pm for ALL Swimmers, end time TBD (probably 5:15-5:30 for the younger athletes, 6:00pm for older swimmers)
***There is NO Wednesday/Friday morning workouts this week. Masters we will still meet on Thursday Morning****
DVOW Saturday June 8th: Meet information is posted, but there will be a final meet update/schedule coming to us from the meet director this week, I will have finalized schedules then. The events for your athletes, if you are competing, are available for your view on your personal accounts. If you have any questions please get in touch with Big Show.
YSSC Firecracker Invitational: Hosted by the mighty sea cucumbers at the MIddle Tyger YMCA, I know there is a ton of stuff going on this week, but please make your way to our events page and take a look at the meet information. This is a fantastic meet in Duncan, SC and one that CAT has supported and swam well at for years. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Potential Need for Friday June 7th, Course Set up on the Lake: If you have a pontoon boat or a power craft (boat) CAT may be in need of some assistance for the course set up. We do this on Friday morning, before it gets too hot and so that we have everything as set as we can ON THE WATER (beach and admin set up will happen during the day) as early as possible. If you have such a vessel and are willing to help us set the course on Friday June 7th, please get in touch with Big Show.
This week is a true opportunity for our program and community to welcome visitors from all over and show them some of what makes this team a truly one of a kind program.

Stay Frosty,
Big Show
