MB Riptides have “Breakout” swims in Columbia The Myrtle Beach Riptides swim team travelled to the University of South Carolina to compete in the Carolina Aquatics May Breakout swim meet May 22-24, 2015. Twenty one members of the Riptides competed in the meet combining for 87 personal best time (an 83% improvement), 15 new SC Swimming summer (lcm) State Championships qualifying times (q-times) and 13 new team records. Riptides Splash into new Season The Myrtle Beach Riptides swim team splashed into the new swim season at the 2015 City of Charleston Southern Marlins Racing Team long-course Invite held April 11-12. The “long-course” season represents competitions held in 50-meter long pools, equivalent to international and Olympic swimming venues. For the Riptides, twenty-one swimmers participated in the meet, several swimmers for the first time. Myrtle Beach Riptides close-out season The Myrtle Beach Riptides swim team ended the 2014-15 short-course season at the 2015 Palmetto Championships March 20-22. The event was hosted at the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic and Fitness Center. Overall, Riptides finished in 3rd place and garnered over 200 personal best times, 11 new SC Swimming State Championship q-times, 4 Age-group Sectional Championship q-times and 4 team records. But the Myrtle Beach Riptides swim team had a different idea… fast swimming to heat things up. Mount Pleasant 12/Under Grand Prix #3 – Twenty-three Riptides’ swimmers competed in Grand Prix #3 on November 8 in Mount Pleasant.
