Rays COVID-19 Update

Ed Cullen

Dear Rays Families,

The last few days have lead to a whirlwind of cancellations in the sports world. We have been continuing to monitor the situation in light of meets around the region cancelling and unfortunately at this point, all swim meets the Rays would have hosted/attended in the next 30 days have been canceled. It has been our intention all along to provide an amazing end of season competition for all swimmers and I am very upset that we will not be able to provide those opportunities, but these decisions have been made in the public interest.

This includes the following events:

Palmetto State Meet, MiniRays Leaping Leprechaun Meet, YMCA Nationals, All-State, & Carolina Crown

Again, we are saddened at the prospect of these swimmers not getting a true end of season experience.

For now, practices will run as scheduled. Attendance will be taken while we are offering practice, but there are no penalties for athletes missing practice, if you feel it is unsafe for your athlete to come to practice, that is perfectly ok. We will send out updates/cancellations to the schedule as they happen.

Please continue to check the CDC website for updates, and remind your swimmers to wash their hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds, and if you or your swimmer feel sick please STAY HOME.

If you have any concerns or questions please email your athletes lead coach.

We hope that everyone stays healthy and safe while resting up for an amazing Long Course Season.

Coach Preston
