SCISA High School State Champs

5 SMRT Swimmers led their High School teams during The 2014 SCISA High School State Championships today @ The Augusta Aquatic Center in Augusta Ga. First Baptist men were lead by Ethan Madden & Burke Arredondo winning the Mens title. Ethan finished 2nd in both the 50 Free (22.76) & 100 Back (59.94). He also led off both the 200 Free & 400 Free Relays which won both events in State Record times. Ethan's split on the 400 Free Relay was 51.05. All 3 swims were his Life Time Best Swims. Burke finished 7th in the 200 IM with a best time of 2:40.54, then finished 17th in the 100 Breast with another best 1:17.39. 6th grader Gavin Milligan helped Porter Gaud to a 7th Place Team finish with his 10th place finishes in both the 100 Fly & 500 Free.

On the girls side Grace Arredondo helped The First Baptist Girls to a second place team finish by placing 2nd and 3rd in the 50 Free & 100 Free respectively. Her times of 25.82 and 56.12 were both life time best swims. She later led off both freestyle relays to state titles. She again dropped more time leading of the 200 free relay with a split of 25.78. Logan Faust placed 18th & 26th for First Baptist in the 200 IM & 100 Back respectively.

Next week our SMRT Swimmers will compete in the S.C. Public Schools State Championships in Columbia.
