2022 ISCA Senior Championships

SMRT has never had an individual place higher than 5th place, has never scored in a relay, has never place higher than 33rd as a team. But as Tom Brady said after his 40 day retirement “Never say Never”.

Last week at The 2022 ISCA Senior Championships SMRT came away with 3 Gold medals, 3 Silver, and 1 bronze medal. Scoring in the top 10 in 3 relays, and placing 15th as a team with 80.5 points.

Leading the way with 3 Gold and 2 silver Medals was 15 year old Wells Cloud. Winning The 100m Fly, 100m and 200m Freestyle. His Silver medals were in the 200m Back and the 50m Fly. Wells also scored in the 100m Back 6th and 50m Back 8th.

Teammate 16 year old Kayleb Eldridge won Silver in the 200m Fly, and Bronze in the 100m Fly.

Other top 10 finishes were 17 year old Lindsay Burbage 5th in the 50m Breast, and 14 year old Emma Durham 8th in the 200m Back. Relays scoring in the top 10 were: Boys 200m Free 9th (Wells, Kayleb, Zane Ransford, Daniyal Eldridge) & 200m Medley 10th (Wells, Kayleb, Zane, Daniyal).  The Mixed 400 Free Relay 10th (Luke Nixon, Emma Durham, Wells Cloud, Lily Burnette)

New Team Records were recorded by:

Wells Cloud – 100m Fly, 100m Back, 200m Back

Lindsay Burbage – 100m Breast, 200m Breast

Emma Durham – 100m Freestyle

Wells Cloud’s time in the 100m Fly was good enough to qualify him to this years Winter Junior Nationals in December
