Championship Meets: What an exciting month for meets it has been! LVSC made a great showing at both CCS JO’s and Desert Champs, and there is much more to come! This weekend we have some National group swimmers competing at the CA/NV sectionals. You can get updates on how they’re doing through Meet Mobile or on our Facebook page. Next weekend we will be sending swimmers to the Allington Meet in Clovis and the week after we have a group going to Super JO’s in Pasadena. If you were at the annual meeting earlier this month you’ve heard Coach Pete’s speech on far we’ve come over the past five year. Those who have witnessed it first-hand can’t stress enough the amount of growth and achievement our team has experienced over the years. Each year we are setting a new team record on the number of swimmers qualifying for championship meets. Five years ago, we didn’t have anyone attending the majority of the meets mentioned above. This year we had 7 swimmers qualify for Sectionals and 20 swimmers for Super JO’s. It’s exciting to imagine what our current 10 and under crowd will do in another five years.

Service Hours: Short Course season is ending on March 31st. Which means the service hour period will end and reset for another period (Long Course April 1st – August 31st). Check your service hours to make sure you have your required amount (10 in most cases). If you are in need of hours we have one more meet coming up, the Spring Fling on March 27th. You can also stop by the team store and help them out to earn hours. Another great way to earn hours is by organizing a social gathering for your swimmer’s practice group. If you are interested in planning something you can talk to your swimmer’s group parent and they will give you direction on how to do so. Your swimmer will appreciate it! Remember that there will be an automatic charge of $25.00 per missing hour at the end of the period.

High School Swim Season: Has started! We have dozens of high school swimmers who will be representing their high schools this spring. We will be posting their swim accomplishments on Facebook, so keep an eye out for that info.

Swim Swap: If you are in need of gear or have some extra gear to donate go see Caron Olsen. You can normally find her on deck Wednesdays and Fridays with her wagon full of gear.

Thank You to Our Sponsors: To date we have three businesses sponsoring LVSC in some way: Showcase Landscape who was referred to us by the Williams Family (Grace), Truman Orthodontics courtesy of the Senft Family, and Fairway Independent Mortgage with Patrick Moore. Thank you!
