Tim Teeter Executive Director

Tim will begin his four season as the Director and Head Coach of Set Swim Team. He has spent nearly 25 years as a coach and has worked with athletes of all levels. During his first six years at TST his athletes broke over 200 club records and the club tripled in number of members.

Prior to coming to Set Swim Team, Tim served as the head coach for Ames Cyclone Aquatics Club where he lead ACAC to its first ever ISI State Championship. During his time at ACAC he developed one of the premier swim clubs in the upper Midwest.  

Tim’s coaching career has included coaching swim clubs in Northern California, high school in Iowa, and colleges in both Northern California and Iowa. His early career took him to the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. During his time at UOP Teeter coached 12 NCAA All-Americans, who earned 31 All-American awards. He has coached international athletes that have won numerous national titles in their home countries. One of Tim’s athletes, Ziada Jardine, made the semifinals at the 2004 FINA World Short Course Championships.

As an athlete, Tim swam for Iowa State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies. He was a four year letterwinner for the Cyclones, earned Academic All-Big Eight honors as a swimmer and was a member of the Big 8 Champion Team in 1995. After Iowa State, Teeter continued his education at Creighton University School of Law. At Creighton Tim received his J.D.

Tim also serves as the General Manager of the New York Breakers and the Head Coach of the El Toro High School Swim Team. He is married to Jessica and they have two children, Nyte and Daley.

Coach Fernando Soraggi is Brazilian born in the city of Formiga, MG - Brazil.  Fernando was known as "the goose" because he loved swimming in the lagoon close to his house when not training with his swim team.  

He then became a 12X National Brazilian Swim Coach with multiple national titles, world championships, South American, Pan-American titles and Olympic athletes such as: Axcell de Godoi, Jose Luciano Namorado, Fernando Prado, Denise Prado, Rui Tadeu de Aquino, Lucila Martins, Suzana Mendonca, Jose Roberto Diniz Aranha, James Huksley Adams, Jose Antonio de Oliveira "Careca" and many others.  He has over 50 years of international experience with athletes and coaches from all over the world.

Coach Fernando has Bachelor's degrees in chemistry and physical education from Santo University.  Coach Ferando is WSI, First Aid & CPR, ASCA & SwimAmerica certified.  Fernando moved to the United States in 2018 to be closer to his children and grandchildren, but has continued to dedicate his life to the sport he loves, swimming.

His favorite hobbies are biking, dancing, listening to jazz music, swimming, and spending time with family.  Coach Fernando's favorite quote is, "All athletes are special, yet if you are a swimmer, you are extra special.  You have no idea what the sport of swimming can do in your life."
