2019 Short Course Golden State Invite Recap

Shark:
What a great end season championship meet! A lot of great swims from all the Sharks and a couple top 3 Medalist! Everyone that competed got a chance to put their name on the “Best Time” board and overall applied the skills that we’ve learned all season! I am so proud of of all the Sharks and all the other swimmers that participated and it was a great meet to make it my last competitive swim meet being part of Swim Torrance! -Coach Hana

Age Group:
Way to finish the season! We had a tremendous amount of lifetime bests achieved at this meet, as well as a few who placed in the top 3 earning a medal. I think it had to do with the squirt gun that got everyone in the pool quicker, or maybe more like all the hard work and focused training that the athletes put in all season long leading up to this meet! We are thankful for Canyons for putting on such a great event that gave our swimmers, of all ages, the chance to experience prelims and finals. We had a lot of first time finalist who learned a lot about not only racing, but also time management and being able to swim their event twice in one day. What a wonderful opportunity and a fantastic way to close out the 2018-2019 short course season! -Coach Kimi

PreSenior/Senior:
Congratulations to all Golden State Invite swimmers for closing out our short course season with a bang! This meet was a great opportunity for our swimmers to get a true prelims - finals meet experience. Several PreSenior and Senior swimmers had the opportunity to race in finals for the first time, an accomplishment in itself as well as a skill that needs to be practiced. These athletes dealt with the mental aspect of racing the same event twice in one day, and learned how to tweak small aspects from their prelims swim to have big payoffs on their finals races. Aside from these accomplishments, there were also countless best times, and 30 new spring and summer JO cuts for our PreSenior & Senior athletes.

Great job 13 & Over swimmers and all Swim Torrance athletes. Also, thank you, parents, for your support in timing for the prelims and finals sessions. -Coach Rachael
