Safe Sport
At Swim Torrance, implement and follow Safe Sport policies and guidelines. Safe Sport is a program designed to respond to and prevent instances of abuse and misconduct within the sport of swimming. Like USA Swimming, we are committed to fostering a fun, healthy, and safe environment for all members.

MAAPP is designed by The U.S. Center for Safe Sport to facilitate healthy boundaries between adults and minor athletes in order to protect minor athletes from abuse in sport.
- Minor Athlete Abuse Protection Policy 2.0 (MAAPP)
- Acknowledgement of Policy - all Swim Torrance athletes must sign & return to lead coach
- Athlete Protection Training (APT) Training Requirement for 18&Over Athletes
- Applicable Adult
- One-on-one interactions
- Social Media and Electronic Communication
- Travel: Local and Team
- Locker Rooms and Changing Areas
- Massages, Rubdowns, and Athletic Training Modalities
- Permission for an unrelated applicable adult to provide local transportation to a minor athlete
- Permission for an unrelate applicable adult to travel to competition alone with minor athlete
- Permission for an unrelated applicable adult to share the same hotel, sleeping arrangement, or overnight lodging location with minor athlete
- Permission for a mental health care professional or health care provider to have one-on-one interaction with a minor athlete
- Permission for a licensed massage therapist, other certified professional, or health care provider to treat at minor athlete
