JUNIOR GUARD (JG) PREP PROGRAM

The Swim Torrance JG Prep Program is designed by a Junior Guard Instructor, so it will prepare participants for the Los Angeles County JG pool swim test, as well as teach the skills needed on the beach. In 2019 and 2022 we had a very high pass rate after taking our course (no course in 2020 or 2021 due to COVID-19).

Over the course of the program, we have specifically created a season plan for your child to potentially pass the JG swim test coming this summer. Each swimmer will learn technical skills led by an experienced Swim Torrance Staff. This is not a learn to swim program.

Swimmers will also be conditioned to complete a 100-yard Freestyle (4 lengths) through consistent repetition and creative kick/drill sets. During the course, we will be tracking your athlete's progress with timed swims while continuing to give feedback. As your child gets closer to their test date, they will receive exclusive information to prepare the day of their test. We're so excited for you to join and let's get JG ready! Program Dates: Jan 9h to March 28th, 2024
Who: 9-17 year-olds
What: Preparation for the swimming test portion of Junior Guards
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays for 1 hour each day (4:00pm-5:00pm)
Where: Victor Benstead Plunge Pool (3331 Torrance Blvd)
Cost: $275 + USA Swimming Membership

All participants are encouraged to make all swim practices. There are NO MAKE UP CLASSES. If your child passes their test early, please have them continue practicing and finish the program, as this will keep them ready for Junior Guards.
