Neil Romney Head Coach
Lisa Jorgenson Lead Developmental Coach

Lisa grew up in Deadwood, SD and swam for the Deadwood 76ers Swim Team from the age of 4 years old through the summer following her senior year in high school.  She has a degree in Civil Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.  After Lisa and her husband moved to Aberdeen she took on the role of a full-time stay-at-home mom and volunteered in numerous organizations to which she belonged.  When her daughter and oldest son joined the Aberdeen Swim Club in 2010, she remembered how much she loved the sport of swimming.  Lisa became a member of the ASC Board of Directors in 2011.  Her youngest son joined the team in 2013, and it was then that Lisa joined the staff of ASC as an assistant coach.  Lisa has enjoyed her time as an ASC swim parent, volunteer leader, and coach.  In 2019, she was chosen as South Dakota's lone coach representative at the USA Swimming Leadership Conference.  During the summer of 2021, Lisa was honored to be chosen by her fellow coaching colleagues as South Dakota Swimming's Coach of the Year.  Lisa says that competitive swimming has given her skills that she continues to use as an adult, as well as a childhood full of wonderful memories.  She believes every child that gets involved in the sport of swimming benefits not only from a health perspective, but also in gaining life-long skills such as goal setting, time management, communication, relationship building, and developing a strong work ethic.  As your child's coach Lisa will maintain a positive atmosphere and provide encouragement while teaching the fundamentals of the swimming strokes in a safe and nurturing environment.

He currently still holds 2 team records as part of the 13-14 boys 200 Free relay and the 13-14 boys 200 Medley relay. Derek has been a Lifeguard at the YMCA since 2017, and has taught swim lessons since 2013. Derek enjoys coaching because he likes bringing a competitive energy to the sport of swimming.
