2019-2020 Board Members

President:  Jody Feucht

Vice President: Shelly Brandenburger

Shelly has been involved in the BSC since her son Sam started swimming in 3rd grade.  Shelly has served on the board in the past as Treasurer and is currently serving as VP.  She is also the Head Official for BSC and a Referee!   Outside of BSC, Shelly's "real job" is as a Professor of Health & Natural Sciences and Shelly & Rod own Back in Motion Chiropractic with offices in Brookings and Rod's hometown of New Effington, SD.  We live on an acreage outside of Brookings and raise dogs, chickens and pigeons, and hay & trees on the farm.

Secretary:  Bonnie Tonsager

Bonnie has been involved with the Brookings Swim Club since 2014 when her daughter Brea started in 3rd grade.  Bonnie and her Husband Aaron have lived in Brookings for over 20 years and are blessed to be raising their two children Brea and Dawson in such an amazing community.  Bonnie works at Millborn Seeds as their Director of HR and Training, she has a passion for serving others and helping to build relationships.  Her favorite part of swimming is attending meets and seeing our swimmers at the end the lane for a race cheering their teammates on with such excitement, that camaraderie is priceless for our swimmers knowing that their teammates care and want to see them successful.  She loves sharing her positive experiences about the club with others so feel free to ask and she will likely add a little dose of humor as laughter is one of her favorite traits.   Email:  secretary@Brookingsswimclub.com

Treasurer:  Jen Smetana

I moved to Brookings to attend SDSU, where I met my husband Todd.  Both of our daughters are members of the club. Addie is a senior swimmer and Brielle is a pre-senior swimmer.  I work part-time as a bookkeeper for Complete Plumbing.  In my spare time, I enjoy going to SDSU games (especially football), cooking and baking, kayaking, and spending time with my family.

Board Member at Large:  Cindy Holy

We moved to Brookings in August of 2016, and would have had a difficult time making that decision without a Brookings Swim Club! Prior to BSC, our son Joseph enjoyed swimming at Foss Swim School in Maple Grove, MN and then with Velocity Aquatics swim club in Delano, MN. Joseph currently swims with the Senior swim group and is a sophomore at Brookings High School. Originally from Hutchinson, KS and a graduate of the KU School of Pharmacy, I worked 18 years as a pharmacist in KS, MO, TX, TN & AZ. I am now a stay-at-home mom, Mary Kay consultant, St. Thomas More volunteer, Well Read Mom Book Club enthusiast, and am blessed with the opportunity to oversee my mother's care here at ULC. I have served on the BSC Board since April of 2019 and my husband, Larry, served for one year prior to that. We both feel that swimming is not only a great sport for our son but that our club serves the entire community of Brookings as well. My desire is for our club to continue to grow and strive for excellence in all areas - recruiting and retaining swimmers and their families, coaching all athletes to reach their individual goals and making swim lessons accessible to all.
