Swim Lesson Policies and Procedures:

  1. Age Requirements:
  • There is no age requirement for lessons, but swimmers must be toilet-trained.


  1. Registration:
  • Group level descriptions are posted online. Please contact jaxswimteam@gmail.com prior to registering if you have any questions about the appropriate group level for your swimmer(s). The Head Coach may move a swimmer into a different group level if needed.

  • Registration will be completed online, through our Team Unify website: www.jaxswimteam.com Click HERE to start the registration process. A Registration Guide is available with step-by-step instructions and useful links.

  • Schedule selections made during online registration are tentative. Minimum group sizes must be met, or the group will be cancelled until further notice. You will be contacted if your swimmer’s group is cancelled due to lack of registered participants, and we will try reschedule your swimmer. If rescheduling is not possible, you will be issued a refund or credit (pro-rated if some lessons have been used).

  • Every swimmer must become a member of USA Swimming. This provides insurance coverage for all Jackson Swim Team (JAX) programs. USA Swimming registration is completed through the online registration process and is paid for by the annual Registration Fee.

  • The swimming year begins September 1, and membership is valid until December 31 of the following year. Renewing swimmers will re-register annually and be charged the annual Registration Fee each September.


  1. Payments:  
  • All payments will be made online through your swim team account on our Team Unify website: www.jaxswimteam.com

  • Annual Registration fees are charged immediately upon online registration and must be paid by credit card.

  • All accounts are required to have a bank account or credit card on file for automatic draft for season fees. To set up your account to pay monthly fees:  As soon as you receive registration confirmation, go on to your account, click on My Account, and Click on Set Up Autopay to enter your banking information (or credit card information) for all future dues/fees.

  • All lesson fees will be charged immediately. Swimmer(s) will not be allowed to participate until registration and season fees are paid in full.

  • It is the family's responsibility to update credit/debit card information whenever their card on file expires or is replaced.  The Parent Board will do its best to alert families when it sees that a credit/debit card payment has failed, but that is considered a courtesy and not a responsibility of the team. Ultimately, it is the family's responsibility to update their credit/debit card information as needed. Any late fees that are charged due to credit/debit card failures will not be refunded.


  1. Rescheduling, Suspending, or Canceling Lessons:
  • Fees are non-refundable. Credit for future lessons or makeup lessons may be issued in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the instructor on a pro-rated basis.

  • Make-up lessons are not guaranteed. 

  • If a swimmer’s lesson is canceled due to weather, pool/campus closures, or unforeseen events, the lesson instructor will offer a make-up lesson if possible.

  1. Parking:
  • The University of Memphis Lambuth campus requires parking permits for the use of campus lots. These must be obtained in the business services center in the main building. Ask for a “continuing education” parking permit ($32 per semester). Parking without a permit puts you at risk of a ticket.

  1. Parent/Guardian Policy:
  • A parent, guardian, or responsible party must remain in the pool area during lessons.
