April White Assistant Coach
 

April grew up swimming at a very young age in the Southern Indiana area. She swam competitively through grade school, middle school and was a State qualifier in multiple events. She swam all four years of high school and qualified for State her Junior and Senior year.  April received a swimming scholarship to Asbury University in Wilmore, KY, where she placed in the top 5 at conference, qualified for Nationals, and set several school records. She transferred her senior year and received a scholarship from Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, KY where she qualified for Nationals and completed her swimming career. April’s favorite events were 100 & 200 breaststroke and 50 free. April graduated from Campbellsville University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. April was also a swim instructor through high school and college.  She  is married to her husband, Collin, and they recently brought there first baby boy into the world,

Laura Wells Coach

Laura Wells grew up swimming in the Nashville area with Excel Aquatics. She was an outstanding age group swimmer in the Southeastern LSC. She qualified for Junior Nationals and Senior Nationals as a member of relay teams, was twice selected for the Southeastern Zone Team, and was a frequent finalist at Southeastern Championship and Tennessee State High School Championship meets. Laura was a co-captain of the Hendersonville High School swim team, and a record-setter for her high school swim team and cross-country team. Her specialty was freestyle (distance events in her early teenage years; sprint and mid-distance events in her late teens).

 

Laura attended Vanderbilt University, where she earned a degree in psychology and secondary education. She also has a Master’s Degree in History (University of Alabama, Birmingham). At the time she attended Vanderbilt, they did not have a swim team, so Laura played club waterpolo instead. She also competed in several marathons during her twenties. Laura enjoyed success in that sport as well, placing 39th in the 2008 Boston Marathon.

 

Laura coached a summer league team of almost 100 swimmers during college. Laura began coaching again when she moved to Jackson in 2014. She started coaching for Union Swim Club, and moved to the Jackson Gators (a satellite program of Germantown Swim Team) in 2015. In 2016, Laura developed the Jackson Gators' swim lesson program. She became the Head Coach of the Jackson Gators in August, 2017. In December, 2017, the Jackson Gators became an independent swim team: Jackson Swim Team (JAX). Laura played an important role in helping form the new team. She served as the head coach of Jackson Swim Team until spring of 2019. After taking some time off to be a full time mom to her sons Cody (almost 5) and Tyler (1 1/2), Laura recently returned to helping out behind the scenes and  serving as a fill-in coach when needed. 

 

 

Olivia Jordan Assistant Coach

Olivia  “Ollie” Jordan grew up in Columbus, Ohio and learned to swim at a young age. She started swimming competitively at the age of 7 and spent most of her swimming career with the Ohio State Swim Club. She also swam for her local high school freshman, junior, and senior year. In addition to being a district qualifier and school record-breaker in several relays, she was also all-conference in the 100 back and a District qualifier in the 100 Backstroke and 200 IM.  Olivia ’s favorite events were the 100 backstroke, 200 IM, and 100 Fly. She is currently a sophomore at Union University and is double majoring in Spanish and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. In her free time,  Olivia  enjoys sewing, fixing bikes, and all things outdoors! She has a passion for helping swimmers of all ages reach their goals and is so excited to be part of the JAX swim team!

Kolby Hays Junior Coach

Kolby Hays competitively swam for 11 years here in Jackson. He is currently attending Liberty University and studying aviation. A highlight of his swimming career was achieving a “AA” time in the 200 yard Butterfly. He has taught swim lessons for two summers and enjoys passing down his knowledge and passion in the sport of swimming.

 
 
Daniel Lancaster Junior Coach

Daniel was a competitive swimmer for ten years, nearly four of which he swam for JAX. He is now a coach at JAX and is very excited to get to know the team better. Daniel is a senior at Augustine and will be attending Union Univeristy in the fall.

Hannah Maria Jones Junior Coach

Hannah Maria is passionate about swimming and has been a part of a competitive swim team since she was six years old. She earned many ribbons and awards during her swimming career. She was awarded the Mid-South Swimming Champion for 13-14 year-old girls. She qualified and swam for State as a freshmen in high school.  Hannah Maria’s favorite events are the 50 free and 100 breast. Hannah Maria still swims competitively for the Jackson Swim Team. She is delighted to be able to serve the team in this additional capacity as a junior coach.

Hannah Maria has attended Trinity Christian Academy since she was 4-years old. She is now a Sophomore and plans to graduate high school in 2023.
