Prime Aquatics Families,

Our 5th Annual Gobbled Gobbler 5K Run on Thanksgiving Day was more than a “turkey trot”. It was a community collaboration of fast running, fast walking, dog walking, stroller pushing, and family fellowshipping on an absolutely gorgeous November fall morning in Maryville, TN!

On November 26, after 281 registered for the run, there were 230 in-person participants. The runners, the endless volunteers from Prime, MHS, our sponsors, and all of you helped to make this happen! Special thanks goes out to our GG5K Race Director Stacy Mead, Captain Graves, the City of Maryville, our former Race Director Eric Bellah, and our title sponsor The Shanks Companies: Integrity Through Unparalleled Experience, for helping us to pull this off with flying colors! Our main sponsors included Shanks, Newman, Anderson, Patriot, Farmer’s, and Blount Memorial.

Our top three male finishers were:  1) McGuire Jones, 2) Connor Barnes, and  3) Brady Boone (in place of Will Grinder). Our top three female finishers were 1) Kelly Wetteland, 2) Brooke Bratta, and 3) Armada Lashmit-Pena. The following swimmers from Prime, MHS, and Green Meadow Swim Team were competing in this year’s Gobbled Gobbler 5K. If I missed your name, please let me know! William Benedict, Bekah Benedict,  Will Coker, Annabelle Diggs, Adalyn Diggs, Keira Everett, Jonathan Ford, Drew Gerken, Cate Harper, Emma Hendrickson, Rachel Hornback, Noah Hornback, Charlie Houston, Izzy Meyer, Emma Meyer, Keegan Rutledge, Margaret Murray, Brenni Matson, Cole Matson, Henry Mead, Max Mead, Will Mead, Thatcher Ella, Yohan Le Pape, Alexa Shanks, Wes Tate, Kendall Teeters, Andrew Warner, Lance Warner, Meredith Warner, Kelly Wetteland, Audrey Wilson, and Trent Yager.

Congratulations to all of you! Many thanks to ALL of you sponsors, swimmers, runners, students, parents, grandparents, friends, and family who showed up, cheered, volunteered, and supported our swimming programs in this way! Thanks to all of our sponsors and you, we raised $7700 for Prime. Main sponsors included Shanks, Newman, Anderson, Patriot, Farmer’s, and Blount Memorial. Funding from this race will assist in providing swim programs, such as child-focused water safety, adult and child swim lessons, competitive swimming and practice times for local schools’ swim teams.
