“Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” -Winston Churchill

Chris joined the Board of Directors in 2019. While Chris was born in Nashville, he grew up in Knoxville. Growing up, Chris swam for Pilot Aquatic Club (now Tennessee Aquatics), Farragut High School, and Village Green Gators. Chris is now a member of the Tennessee Aquatics Masters Swim Team. His family’s swimming history has spanned around sixty years in the Knoxville area. Chris’ father and uncles swam for Knoxville Swim Association – an early club team with ties to Tennessee Aquatics. Chris believes swimming teaches skills that last a lifetime. His goal as President is to foster a community of growth for the athletes and coaches by serving as the premier swimming program in the region. Chris believes Tennessee Aquatics is strong and the program could not operate without the support of the parents who volunteer at swim meets and team events. He is honored to be a part of this organization and will hopefully have a hand in continuing the strong legacy of success. While Chris did not swim in college, he graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in finance. Professionally, Chris is a Relationship Manager with The Trust Company of Tennessee where he helps clients navigate the complex needs of multi-generational wealth. His team specializes in wealth management, personal trust and estate planning, as well as succession planning for family-owned businesses. In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, Riley, and his stepson Rex. As a family, they enjoy activities such as watching Rex compete in various sporting events, going to the beach and lake, or traveling to new places. Aside from Tennessee Aquatics, Chris volunteers his time with various other organizations such as Leadership Knoxville, Rotary Club of Knoxville, and The University of Alabama National Alumni Association.

“Find the good and praise it.” -Alex Haley

Angelia joined the Tennessee Aquatics’ Board of Directors in 2020. As a parent of a current Tennessee Aquatics swimmer, she has observed firsthand the benefits of the program. Through swimming, she has seen her son learn personal discipline and perseverance as well as gain a strong sense of community. Angelia is originally from Dandridge, Tennessee where she swam in high school and taught swim lessons for many years until she graduated from law school. While Angelia did not swim in college, she graduated from Carson-Newman University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. Angelia later earned a Master of Law (LLM, Estate Planning and Elder Law) from Western New England University. In her free time, Angelia loves to cook and write.
