PCST College Swimmers Finish Season With Great Swims! Collegiate swimmers across the country are currently out of the pool just like the rest of us but I wanted to take some time to go over some results from PCST alumni at college swim meets in February. Sixteen Event Wins for PCST at Auburn Classic! Thirty-Nine PCST swimmers competed in the 2020 Auburn Classic February 28 - March 1 on campus at Auburn University. The meet featured 400 athletes from across the country. Twelve year old Chloe Reed led the way for PCST, winning all six individual events in the 11-12 girls age group. Shane McEliece Wins Two Events at Southeastern Championships – Seventeen New Team Records Set! Twenty Two PCST Tsunamis competed in the 2020 Southeastern Swimming Short Course Championships this past weekend at the Huntsville Aquatic Center. The meet featured more than 900 athletes representing more than 60 teams from Tennessee, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. Shane McEliece won Southeastern Championships in the 13-14 Boys 50 yard Freestyle and 100 yard Breaststroke events! Championship Season Kicks Off at Region 4 Championships! Panama City Swim Team opened the Short Course Championship season at the SES Region 4 Championships in Pensacola. The meet featured nearly 400 swimmers representing teams from Florida and Alabama. There were some unbelievable lifetime best times put up by our swimmers at this meet, and many swimmers placed in the top 8, scoring team points for PCST. Two PCST Relay Records Fall at Mac Crutchfield Invite! The Panama City Swim Team established two new relay team records at the ATAC Mac Crutchfield Invitational in Tallahassee January 24-26. The meet featured more than 300 swimmers representing teams from across the Southeast. The 11-12 Girls relay team of Riley Harris, Alexis Nichols, Annie McKenzie, and Chloe Reed set a new mark in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:53.51. Taylor Warren Signs to Swim for University of North Florida! PCST swimmer and Arnold High School senior Taylor Warren has signed her National Letter of Intent to swim for the University of North Florida. She will join the Ospreys in the Fall of 2020. Taylor is a 13 time FHSAA High School State Championships A Finalist (Top 8), with four top three finishes. PCST Travel Team Swimmers Compete in Clearwater! Five members of the PCST Travel Team competed in the Al Soltis Memorial Meet in Clearwater January 17-19. The meet offered a unique format of short course yards for prelims and long course meters for finals. Six PCST Team Records Fall at GPAC Gravy Bowl! The Panama City Swim Team Tsunamis finished in third place overall at the 2019 GPAC Gravy Bowl Swim Meet held November 22-24 at the University of West Florida Natatorium in Pensacola. 2019 High School Championship Wrap-up! Now that the 2019 Florida High School Athletic Association Swim Season has come to a close, it is time to look back and reflect on some of the tremendous performances posted by PCST swimmers. The High School Championships consist of three levels of meets over three weeks (District - Region - State). Swimmers in the 2A classification (Arnold, Bay, North Bay Haven) competed over the period of October 23-November 8.
