Gonczol Sets Two Team Records Set in Sarasota! Seven members of the Panama City Swim Team competed in the Florida Virtual Championships in Sarasota, Florida December 11-13. The meet featured some of the best swimmers across the state of Florida including Olympic Champion Ryan Lochte. Mason Gonczol established new PCST Team Records in the 13-14 Boys 100 yard Backstroke (53.82) and 200 yard Backstroke (2:00.33). Two PCST Team Records Fall at GPAC Gravy Bowl! The Panama City Swim Team Tsunamis finished in third place overall at the 2020 GPAC Gravy Bowl Swim Meet held November 20-22 at the University of West Florida Natatorium in Pensacola. The meet featured teams from across the Southeast. Twelve year old Blair Wootson established two new all time PCST Team Records at the meet. 2020 High School Championship Wrap-up! Now that the 2020 Florida High School Athletic Association Swim Season has come to a close, it is time to look back and reflect on some of the tremendous performances posted by PCST swimmers. The High School Championships consist of three levels of meets over three weeks (District - Region - State). Swimmers in the 3A classification (Mosley) competed over the period of October 19-November 6. Five Tsunamis Named SES Age Group All-Stars! Five PCST swimmers have been named as Age Group All-Stars of the Southeastern Swimming LSC for the 2019-2020 Short Course season. The award highlights outstanding achievements in the pool for the 8&U, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 age groups. Blair Wootson qualified in both the 9&10 and 11&12 Boys age groups. Gip Crye qualified in the 11&12 Boys division. Mason Gonczol and Shane McEliece both qualified in the 13&14 Boys division. Chloe Reed qualified in the 11&12 Girls division. Blair Wootson Leads PCST at Rick Byers Memorial Swim Meet! The Panama City Swim Team competed at the 2020 Rick Byers Memorial Swim Meet in Destin October 10-11. Blair Wootson won each of his eight individual events in the 11-12 Boys Age Group. Great Swims at Speedo Beach Blast The Panama City Swim Team Tsunamis got the 2020-2021 SCY into full gear at the Speedo Beach Blast September 25-27 at Frank Brown Park. PCST Closes 2019-2020 Season at August Invite! PCST swimmers closed what seems like the longest, and was certainly the strangest swim season ever last Saturday August 29 at the PCST August Invitational at Frank Brown Park. The 2019-2020 swim season officially closed on August 31. While the meet was technically part of the previous season, it served as a great launch into the 2020-2021 season. PCST Returns to Competition! It felt so good to get back to competition after nearly five months since we last participated in a swim meet. On Saturday July 25, PCST swimmers competed at Frank Brown Park and combined the results with our friends at Coast Aquatics in Destin. Great job everyone at our first Fun Meet of the 2020 Summer Splashes Season. Thanks to everyone for helping us with maintaining our social distancing and allowing the kids such a fun evening. We saw some outstanding swims and hope that the kids really enjoyed themselves. Now we have some goals to shoot for as we continue to improve over the next few weeks.
