Two GPAC seniors named Scholastic All-America

For the second year in a row, a pair of GPAC swimmers were named to USA Swimming’s Scholastic All-America list, announced by the organization last week.

Landry Hadder and Emma Wortman, both seniors at Pace High School, made the prestigious list of top-notch student-athletes from around the country. In all, just about 1,600 swimmers made the team. The pair were the first GPAC swimmers in several years that made the list after their junior year.

Swimmers must demonstrate their prowess in the classroom as well as the pool to be honored by USA Swimming. Student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and have achieved a 2019 Winter Junior National time in an event to qualify.

GPAC is proud of the commitment these student-athletes show not only to their swimming, but to their academics as well. It is no small feat to excel in both and these two swimmers demonstrate what student-athletes can be.
