Patrick Sammon qualifies for Olympic Trials in three events!

Over the weekend, Patrick Sammon competed at the TYR 18 & UN Spring Cup in Irvine, Ca.  This was a long course, trials and finals meet giving athletes one chance to qualify for USA Swimming's Olympic Trials.

Patrick competed in three events over the weekend and made his Olympic Trials cut in each of the three events!

The Olympic Trial standard for the 50 Free = :23.19, the 100 Free is :50.49 and the 200 Free is 1:50.79.

Following are Patrick's final results and how they stack up nationally!!!

  • 50 Freestyle ~ :23.00
    • Ranked 65th out of 100 of USA Swimming's All Time Top 100 Age Group Times for the Men's 50 Freestyle in LCM for 17-18
    • New Sierra Nevada Swimming Record for 17-18 Boy's long course meters (LCM)
  • 100 Freestyle ~ :50.06
    • Ranked 43rd out of 100 of USA Swimming's All Time Top 100 Age Group Times for the Men's 100 Freestyle in LCM for 17-18
  • 200 Freestyle ~ 1:49.76
    • Ranked 44th out of 100 of USA Swimming's All Time Top 100 Age Group Times for the Men's 200 Freestyle in LCM for 17-18

Congratulations to Patrick for an incredible performance at the meet and qualifying in three events.

He will be traveling to Omaha, Nebraska for the Olypmic Trials to compete June 4th - June 7th!
