Coaches and Directors
AquaSol Swim Team coaches are USA Swimming registered and certified. In addition, our coaches have cleared a background check and have current Athlete Protection, USA Swimming SafeSport, Coaches Safety Training, CPR, and First Aid Certifications.
The coaching staff at AquaSol are experienced coaches who have a passion for swimming. Every member of our coaching staff is committed to bringing this passion into each practice, sharing our love of the sport of swimming with our athletes.
Darin Mai has experience coaching at both the collegiate and USS level. Coach Darin has worked with swimmers who have gone on to become National level swimmers, as well as Far Western and Junior Olympic champions. Highly regarded by his coaching peers for his swimmer development, Coach Darin was awarded the Sierra Nevada Age Group Coach of the Year for excellence in 2008 and 2009 by the American Swim Coaches Association. Also head coach of the Union Mine HS swim team, Coach Darin was voted the Sierra Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2014. Coach Darin currently sits on the Board of Directors for Sierra Nevada Swimming and chairs the Technical Planning Committee. AquaSol is fortunate to have a head coach who is so highly regarded in the swim community. Coach Darin is respected for his abilities to create great swimmers and great people. Alan Rosenfeld has been a swim coach since 2004. His extensive experience includes coaching summer league, high school, and year-round club swimmers, working with all ability levels and age groups to foster a passion for swimming, complemented with an emphasis on personal growth. As current head coach of the El Dorado HS swim team, Coach Alan was voted the Sierra Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2018, and the team has won 8 league championships under his leadership. Working with swimmers to improve their technique while fostering a great group environment is Coach Alan’s focus.
Patty Sulivan has over 25 years of coaching experience at both the USS and high school level. She swam collegiately at Santa Rosa Junior College, and earned All American honors for two seasons before also swimming at Chico State. Patty's goals are to focus on giving the Orange Group the basics of each stroke, and building each swimmers confidence. With these tools she hopes they will all carry with them a love of swimming well into adulthood.
Brandon Mills has been coaching since 2019. After a standout high school career with Oak Ridge HS, Brandon competed for Arizona State University 2013-2017 where he was the recpient of the Arthur Ashe Jr. Diversity and Inclusion Award in 2016. Brandon implements his knowledge of the high school and collegiate swimming levels to foster the growth of well-rounded student-athletes and strengthen team culture.
