Day one 400 IM featured Austin Peterson (4:55.2) and Alan Flower (4:43.48). They both made it into the finals with amazing “prelim” times. TOP 10 MAKE FINALS PRELIM SWIM Austin 4:46 (dropped 9 seconds) and Alan 4:39 (dropped 4 seconds) FINALS SWIM Austin 4:47 and Alan 4:40 *** having big drops in the prelims poses a tough task in the finals to drop more time. Waves..... This past weekend, two of our GOLD TEAM members participated in the Sierra Nevada Swimming Leadership Camp held in Roseville. Our athletes spent Friday afternoon and all day Saturday attending classroom sessions and pool time. I asked them to share their experience with the rest of the WAVE FAMILY and this is what they had to say: Jalen Lloyd "Ok, so the recent leadership camp I attended taught me about being a great leader, but it also taught me how to be a better person in and out of...
Our recent travel meet to Cal Berkeley with selected Gold Team athletes proved to be well worth our participation. Some of our athletes were too sick to attend (ok, I’m ready to be done with this sick thing this time of year) and some went despite being sick and others attended this prelim/final meet having avoided the “bug.” You guessed it…….those that went in healthy really set the place on fire. Coming off some very tough and challenging December/early-Jan training, I elected to give the Gold Team a three-day-drop-taper (backing...
2016, Leap year and OLYMPIC year……I look forward to this every four years. Fast swimming, higher expectations, setting the BAR higher than normal, increased work ethic and commitment all share equal importance. There is energy out there just waiting to be harnessed and then unleashed at the perfect moment…..go out and get some. The GOLD TEAM had an incredible couple days of training during our 24-hour swim. This mini training camp provided our athletes an opportunity to swim farther, faster and more intensely in a very demanding and challenging setting....

If you didn't know, one of our very own is an Athlete Representative for Sierra Nevada Swimming. Tim Lee recently had the opportunity to attend the United States Aquatic Sports Convention in Missouri. Read his report about what he experienced at the convention. :) Great having Tim represent Sierra Nevada and the Vacaville Swim Club! United States Aquatic Sports Convention Report The USAS (United States Aquatic Sports) convention, held this year in Kansas City Missouri, was a great experience.
