White Water Aquatics is a very fortunate to have a coaching staff that value the same philosophies and mindset. All of our coaches are committed to a standard of excellence and quality values. The WWA Coaches want to provide a program that provides a positive enviornment for athletes to grow. Each member of the coaching staff believes in the development of the student-athlete; forming a relentless work ethic, building curiosity towards a growth mindset, and being passionate about acheiving goals. The coaches all want to instill a love for the sport and are committed to creating the best program and experience possible.




 Donny Mata
  Head Coach & Founder


Donny got his start into Coaching with both of his former schools - Benicia High School & Diablo Valley College. Through out his time coaching, Donny has also been involved with programs such as Carondalet High School, Viking Aquatics, and a few Summer Rec. Swim Teams and most recently, Granite Bay High School. Donny has coached every age and every ability seen in this sport. He has coached Olympic Trial Qualifiers, CCCAA State Record Holders, California H.S. State Event Winners to Contra Costa County Record Holders as well as helping multiple swimmers earn scholarships.

Donny enjoys being around the pool and cant get enough of Aquatics. Aside from his passion of coaching Swimming, he coaches Water Polo and loves motivating and helping athletes get excited for the sport and help them progress inside and outside of the pool. Starting White Water Aquatics has been a dream of his since he got into coaching back in 2011.




  Mike Chavez
  Pre Senior Group Head Coach


Coach Mike comes to White Water Aquatics with experience that ranges from the local summer rec. teams to working with the top end High School swimmers. Mike is also involved with Water Polo and is a paraeducator in the special education department. He couldn't be more thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to be on deck in a year round capacity that allows him to make an impact to the aquatic athletes through out the community. Coach Mike is always challenging athletes to be their best selves every time they step on the pool deck. 

Coach Mike brings an energy and enthusiasm that is unmatched. He believes in bringing passion every day and spreading the knowledge he's gained over the years to help our student-athletes be successful. Coach Mike promises to always do 3 things at practice :
1) Challenge to be better than the student athlete you were yesterday
2) Show his ultimate belief in you
3) Keep a positive enviornment to allow the student athletes to feel comfortable enough to be themselves to allow their own growth and progress.



 Emily Mosbacher
  Assistant Coach & WWA Strength Coach


Coach Emily comes to White Water Aquatics with coaching experience that ranges from local recreation to D1 collegiate athletes and programs. Coach Emily attended Biola University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and continued further to earn a M.A. in Teaching. Upon graduating, Emily moved to Redwood City, CA and was the Head Age Group coach at Peninsula Community Center Aquatics for several years before stepping into the Head Coaching position at her alma mater, Biola University, where the team transition from NAIA to NCAA D2. Finishing her season with Biola, she moved to Denver, Colorado and became the Associate Head Coach of the men’s and women’s D1 swimming and diving program at the University of Denver.

Emily has since then moved back to her hometown of Folsom, and is now coaching at Orangetheory Fitness in Fair Oaks. She is a personal and group training certified coach and is currently pursuing her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification as well. She has a sincere passion for athletics and fitness and is thrilled to be back near the pool deck again working with her favorite type of athletes: swimmers! She is also excited to develop and lead the Strength and Conditioning program of White Water Aquatics and witness the growth and development of the team and strength of individual swimmers!



 Rebecca Meeker 
  Assistant Coach & Masters Coach


Coach Rebecca has a very successful track record in the community. Her coaching resume includes 5 years with Placer Aquatics Club, GBHS and GB Gators swim teams. She has demonstrated the ability to work with all levels of swimmers from U6 to High School All-Americans. Coach Rebecca has strong organizational, communication and leadership skills, and has a clear vision for what she will do to improve the Swimmers in the Community.  She has been a Head Coach, an Age Group Coach, and a Lessons Manager as well as organized and coordinated Winter and Spring programs. She does a fantastic job of pulling people together toward a common goal. White Water Aquatics is excited to bring on Coach Rebecca to the coaching staff.
