South Snohomish County Dolphins (SSCD) is a USA Swimming year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.
SSCD is a non profit club run by an elected Board of Directors which meets monthly. All members are welcome at each meeting (when not a designated Executive Board meeting) and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraisers.
USA and PNS Swimming: Every Dolphin swimmer must join the United States Swimming Association and Pacific Northwest Swimming. These groups are the governing bodies of the United States and our local area. SSCD collects this fee and forwards it to USA Swimming and PNS and is included as part of the registration fee.
If you are transferring from another USA Swim Club, you will be asked to fill out transfer paperwork and swim as an "unattached" swimmer during meets for 120 days following your last meet with your previous team.
Training fees are based on the swimmer’s training group and cover coaching salaries and pool rentals. These fees assume full participation by each swimmer. While the team may take some time off in the months of December & April, fees are not pro-rated in these months.
Inability to attend all scheduled workouts for any given week does not relieve the swimmer of the obligation for full monthly fees. The Dolphins typically take a training break in the month of August (in between the Long Course and Short Course season) and fees are, therefore, not assessed in that month
Tryouts: Interested families should Click here to arrange for a tryout to assess your child’s swimming ability and placement in the program. More information about our Training Groups can be found Here. If you are currently a member of another USA Swimming team, we ask that you inform your current coach of your intent to try out for SSCD.
Fees: The club uses a monthly payment plan. When you register online you will set up your account using a credit card that will be used for all club billing. Our fees are very competitive and cover our coaches' salary and pool rental fees. There are additional costs throughout the year for meet fees and uniform purchases. You will NOT receive a monthly invoice but you can access your payment information at any time on the SSCD website under the ‘My Account’ tab.
Meets and Volunteer Hours: Meets are an integral part of the swimming experience. We go to many meets throughout the year -- which meet a swimmer attends depends on his/her training group. The Master Meet Calendar outlines which groups attend which meets. Each family is asked to volunteer at each meet that SSCD hosts. Pool Locations: SSCD trains during the week at Kamiak High School and occasionally at Explorer Middle School. These pools are a part of the Mukilteo School District.
