Mardi Gras and TYR Meet Reports

Congratulations to all our swimmers who competed in either the Mardi Gras Invitational or the HSA TYR Invitational! While both meets were shortened by a day for weather, we still had some exciting results.
TYR Invite-
We had 5 swimmers participate in the HSA meet but only for one day. Our highlights were
- Cam Richardson's 200 Back where he dropped both in prelims and finals for a total of 2.2 seconds and placing second.
- Zoe Summar placing second in the 100 Free and 200 IM.
- Jason Wang winning the 200 IM and placing second in the 100 Fly with a new NCSA A cut time of 51.17.
Mardi Gras-
Closer to home, we hosted our 2022 Mardi Gras meet with what turned out to be a whole lot of help from our friends at Ensworth Aquatics. As early as Friday night, we knew that Sunday's weather was going to force a cancellation of any events. Fortunately, Coach Bahr from Ensworth offered to open their pool to our 12 and unders on Saturday which meant that although we ultimately had to cancel any finals, we were able to complete every event scheduled for the weekend. While this wasn't ideal (many swimmers completing 8 different events in one day) it was the best way to get everyone a fair chance to qualify for any upcoming meets. A huge Excel "Thank You!" to Ensworth and everyone who scrambled to make this possible for all our swimmers.
Finally, Congratulations to Nick Cimorelli for hitting his NCSA Junior National A cut in the 100 Breast!
