Zoe Summar named to USA Swimming's Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Committee

Benji DeMotte

Congratulations to Excel Swimmer Zoe Summar for being selected to serve on USA Swimming’s Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Committee. We are extremely proud of Zoe and know that she will be an invaluable advocate for all athletes in our sport.

From Zoe: “I have been the Southeastern Swimming Junior Representative for 2 years now. We have a phenomenal athlete committee and I have enjoyed getting to work with them all. Seeing what all we have accomplished and goals we have set for our committee as a whole has inspired me. I really wanted to take my knowledge to the next level. So I applied for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. It is an amazing opportunity for me to learn from the most intelligent minds inside the governance of USA swimming. Being appointed means so much to me and I am so grateful. I love our swimming community and I hope to make swimming a possibility for everyone. Our sport is so different from other sports. It is truly what makes us so special. It is the sole reason I want more involvement in this side of the swimming world. The more people I can reach to show what great things come from being a part of USA swimming the better. Nothing could make me happier than making that come true. Along with that, is for everyone to have the same opportunities to be included in our environment. I am so honored to be a part of this committee and to now grow into the national level!”

Note: Excel Aquatics will be one of the only clubs in the country to have two of our athletes represented on USA Swimming’s National Committees. As Nicole Caruso will serve on the Club Development Committee and Zoe on the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Committee, we can all take extreme pride in the fact that Excel Athletes are actively helping bring swimming opportunities to future generations of swimmers who will follow them through this amazing sport of ours.
