Scott Parlett Head Coach

Scott is a Tampa native who grew up swimming in the bay area under the guidance of his father/coach at age 4. Scott was trained by several accomplished coaches where he gained the knowledge and expertise that he carries with him today. He swam at Chamberlain H.S. where he won All-Conference and All-Tribune. From there he earned a swim scholarship to Broward Community College where he won 2 National titles in the 400 IM and the 1650 Free. Scott then went on to swim at Missouri State University where he graduated with a degree in Physical Education K-12. While in college Scott started his coaching career as the asst. coach at Hillcrest H.S. In 1998 Scott became the Head Coach at Sickles H.S. where he was Coach of The Year 3 years in a row and in 2008 was named the Tampa Tribune Coach of the Year. In 2001 April 15 th , Scott  Parlett started Swim Tampa Aquatics. Since then he has coached 3 state champions at Sickles H.S., place in the top 5 at the state level 3 years in a row, coached  several  swimmers to  a F.L.A.G.s /Sr. Champ  and National  level .

Coach Ron

Dr. Ron Parlett, joined the coaching staff at Swim Tampa Aquatics after successful careers as a Teacher/Coach and school administrator in the Hillsborough County School District. Following this he became a full time Program Professor in Organizational Leadership and Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University. After serving 14 years he retired to assist his son Scott (Head Coach) at S.T.A.

Coach Ron is no stranger to coaching, he served as Head Boys and Girls Swimming coach at Leto High School (Tampa), in 10 years as coach he had over a .850 winning percentage with 4 teams going undefeated for 3 consecutive years. His teams won 4 Western Conference Championships as well as several District crowns.

Like his son, Coach Ron was a swimmer at Chamberlain High School. "Go Chief"!!

 

Jamison Durr Assistant Coach

Coach Jamison joins us as a former swimmer of Swim Tampa Aquatics from several years back. Coach Jamison's love for swimming was a reason for joining STA and to give back. Coach Jamison recently acquired his Florida Swimming credentials. Coach Jamison's main responsibility is to work with the first teir of our developmental swimmers.

 

Stoddard Pickrell Assistant Coach

Stoddard brings over a decade of coaching experince to STA.  Prior coaching experiencing includes Tampa Y Swimming (Campo), BlueWave Swimming, and Team Velocity.  He grew up swimming for BlueWave.  He has a Bachelors degree in Geology from the University of South Florida and works as an Environmental Consultant in Tampa.  When not on the pool deck or playing in the dirt, Stoddard enjoys spending time with his pup (Ronaldo) and playing soccer.
