  • In the event that registration is not full, we may have to cancel if attendance is low, but will do our best to hold the classes as published.
  • No refunds will be given for swimmers who miss classes, for any reason (sickness, traveling, etc). Please check the schedule of classes, before enrolling.

Make Up Policy Terms:

  • In the event of a weather or pool-related closure, the Swim Center will attempt to schedule a makeup lesson that same week, typically Fridays. A make up lesson is not guaranteed, and is subject to pool and instructor availability.
  • No refunds will be given for cancelled classes due to weather or pool closure.
  • If a make up class is scheduled, parents will be emailed through the registration system.
  • No refunds will be given for swimmers who miss classes, for any reason. Please check the schedule of classes, before enrolling.

Diaper Policy:

  • All children who are under the age of 2, even if they are potty-trained, or older children who are nut fully potty trained must wear a swim diaper. Disposable diapers are NOT permitted.
  • Leg openings should not allow more than 2 fingers between the suit and the diaper.
  • Please do not buy a size for your child to “grow into” as the elastic on the leg openings must be tight enough to contain a bowel movement.

Keys for a Successful Swim Lesson:

  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to your class and check in at the table.
  • We encourage children to use the bathroom before the lesson begins. We strive to start each lesson on time with all class members present for the start.
  • Bring a towel and goggles. Goggles are encouraged to not cover the nose.
  • Parents may sit on the large pool deck bleachers during the swim lesson, but are not permitted to roam the facility or sit near the small pool. For Parent and Tot classes, the parent should be in a swimsuit and enter with their child. All parents and children who enter the facility MUST wear a face covering at all times.

Curriculum & Instruction:

  • Belton ISD Learn to Swim program utilizes the background and experience of certified instructors to guide instruction. Questions about the curriculum and instruction can be answered by Water Safety Instructor and Aquatics Coordinator, Madeline Cummings.
  • Swim lessons are not affiliated with the Tiger Shark Swim team. In the event that the child qualifies for the USA Tiger Shark Swim team, a separate registration process will be required. For questions related to Tiger Sharks, email Head Coach [email protected]

Swim Lesson Specifics:

  • All swim lesson instructors are certified lifeguards. The ratio of instructor to swimmer is dependent on the level of swim lesson.
  • Swim lessons for Parent & Tot, Preschool, and Levels 1 -2 take place in the “Small Pool”. This pool is 3 to 5 feet deep (depending on the side) and is maintained at 86°F year round.
  • Swim lessons for Level 3-4 take place in the “Big Pool”. This pool is 5 to 6 feet deep (depending on the side) and is maintained at 80°F year round.
  • During your child’s lessons, we ask that parents stay in the bleachers closest to the large pool for the duration of the lesson. If the instructor has an issue or question, they will approach you.

Special Circumstances:

  • Our instructors and Swim Center staff are trained to handle these situations. Talking with the child, playing games, and playing with toys can all be used to help ease the child into the class.
  • If you need assistance with your child, or they have any special needs, please let our staff know so we can work with them. We want all children to feel comfortable and happy swimming!
