Kyle Sockwell is representing Texas Gold at the 2012 USA Swimming Junior Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana this week. On Tuesday, Kyle broke both his 17-18 boys and Texas Gold team record in the 400 IM. He swam a 4:35.32 in prelims to eclipse his old time 4:35.48 and lowered the records again that night in finals to a 4:34.21.

Micah Lawrence is in the midst of her Olympic competition in the 200 Breaststroke, tune in to watch her swim in the semi-finals tonight & spoiler alert.... stop reading if you don't want to know before this evenings broadcast... the finals tomorrow night.

Congratulations to 10 year old Rebecca Rivers who earned the 10 & under girls high point award at last weeks Texas Age Group Swimming Championships by scoring more points than any other girl in the competition. She won 4 individual State championships, in the 50 Backstroke, 100 Backstroke, 200 Freestyle and the 400 Freestyle. In her other 3 events, she placed second in the 100 Freestyle & the 200 Individual Medley and placed fourth in the 100 Butterfly. Miss Rivers also set 3 new Texas Gold age group records in...

Rebecca Rivers has set two new Texas Gold 10 & under girls team records this summer, she broke the records in both the 100 & 200 butterfly. 100 meter Fly 1:15.55 200 meter Fly 3:03.55 Kyle Sockwell also set two new Texas Gold 17-18 boys team records this summer, he broke the records in both the 100 backstroke & 200 individual medley. 100 meter Back 1:00.03 200 meter IM 2:08.66

Micah Lawrence has earned a spot on the 2012 United States Olympic team with her 2nd place finish in the 200 Breaststroke on Saturday night. Her time (2:23.03), which was a personal best, is also currently the 3rd fastest time in the world. Congratulations Micah and good luck in London, your Texas Gold family is extremely proud of you.
