Northside Aquatics DIVING Programming Options

NISD Diving Programs Prep Week (July 19th - July 28th 2021)

  • Six sessions of instruction to help divers prepare for the upcoming Fall season
  • The last day of class includes an assessment that will be followed up with recommendations for your diver regarding which of Northside diving programs is a good fit for your diver's goals and abilities (programs that will be recommended at this assessment include; Aqua-Bats Learn to Dive, Northside Dive Clinics, NISD HS Teams and Northside Diving Academy competitive diving team).
  • Free - registration required
  • Open to Summer Dive League Divers, NISD High School divers, Aqua-Bat Campers, Aqua-Bat lesson divers - not recommend for those that have never taken a lesson
  •  (July 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27 - 5pm to 7:30pm) followed by an assessment (July 28 at 5 pm) and placement recommendations into one of our many diving programs offered for Fall  


Aqua-Bats LEARN to DIVE  (Sept-May)

  • Geared to first-time/beginner divers (age range is usually K through 6th grade - must be able to swim)
  • Classes taught by Northside Diving Academy Instructors
  • Approximately $65 per session (eight, one-hour classes), daytime and evening classes available - see website

Northside Dive Clinics 

  • Geared towards athletes 7th-12th grade wanting additional training time and/or those interested in learning Springboard & Platform Diving, but are unsure about competing
  • Taught by Northside Diving Academy Instructors and Coaches (non-UIL Coach)
  • Free for NISD students 7th-12th grades, athletes must register prior to attendance 
  • Offered most months starting August 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm (no class on the 12th - UIL High School Tryouts are that evening)

Northside Diving Academy, Year-round Competitive 

  • Geared towards the competitive diver, all levels invited and competition(s) required
  • Structured practices run by a qualified coach
  • Assessment with a coach prior to registering to assess appropriateness. Contact Coach Freese at Michael Freese at [email protected] to schedule an assessment
  • Must register as an athlete with AAU and USA Diving prior to first practice session or signing contract
  • Generally practices between two to five times a week, between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm dependant on training group
  • $100-250/month depending on training group; contract required
  • Athletes should have a working knowledge of all five dive categories
