Lone Star Water Polo League Spring 2019

AquaTex Water Polo is proud to host the Lone Star League for the Spring of 2019. We invite all Austin, Waco, and San Antonio area teams to register for the events listed below.

The Lone Star Spring League will be exclusively for the 8th and 6th grade and under athletes. High school athletes will be playing in their high school seasons. Please email your league entries by Sunday, February 17 to for all divisions. Please be specific on team names and divisions especially if entering more than one team from your club. We will also be in touch with each team prior to the entry deadline to discuss their specific team entries. A league schedule will be emailed to everyone on on a date TBD (check back with this site often.) The basic information for the league follows

Entry fee

The entry fee will be $300 per team which covers all three games days per team. Please email your intent to play by Sunday, February 17th to for ALL divisions. If you know your team will be playing, please email ASAP. Instructions for entry fees will be provided once teams indicate their intent. The Lone Star Spring League schedule will be emailed and posted soon after the entry deadline.

Dates and Locations

  • Game Day 1: Sunday, February 24 at the Texas Swim Center at UT, hosted by Longhorn Aquatics
  • Game Day 2: Sunday, March 31 at Lake Creek Pool in Round Rock, hosted by AquaTex Waterpolo
  • Championships: Sunday, April 28 at Elizabeth Milburn Park in Cedar Park, hosted by Zilla Water Polo


Athletes can play in multiple divisions but they must meet the criteria for any division they play in. All divisions are coed are based on year in school. NOTE: There are no high school age divisions since these athletes will be playing in their high school seasons.

Teams that have committed are listed in parentheses below.

  • 8th Grade & Younger Coed (Sea Bears, AQTX/Longhorn, Zilla)
  • 6th Grade & Younger Coed (Sea Bears, Longhorn/AQTX, Zilla, Austin)

Game Days Hosts

Teams that host Game Days have the option to charge admission, do concessions, and/or sell water polo apparel are responsible for all pool costs, provide hospitality for coaches/officials, and has the responsibility to organize table workers (athletes, parents, and/or volunteers). League managers (AquaTex this spring) will provide all game balls, awards for teams, arrange/pay for referees, and handle other administrative duties for all league game days.

Conditions/USA Water Polo Memberships

Each team must have a person registered as a coach with USAWP, and that coach must have current CPR and First Aid certification. All athletes need to be at least Bronze-level USA Water Polo members.
