LIFEGUARDS with SUNN Swimming

SUNN is looking to hire part-time lifeguards to ensure the safety of our athletes in the water.  SUNN operates out of 3 pools in Sunnyvale.

Job Responsibilities:

Open and/or close facilities, perform safety checks on pool deck, pool equipment, pool water and safety equipment.  Provide a safe atmosphere for athletes, coaches and parents while on the pool deck. Enact  EAP in the case of an emergency.

Qualifications:

• Lifeguards must have current Lifeguarding and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications. 
• Once hired, applicants must pass a background check and take Athlete ProtectionTraining and Concussion Protocol if over the age of 17.

• Punctual
• Good physical fitness and stamina.
• An interest in swimming and the ability to swim well.
• Good people skills and the ability to supervise.
• Awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Alertness and a sense of responsibility.
• The ability to remain calm and act appropriately in an emergency.

Compensation:

• Lifeguards begin at $16.50 per hour, with a higher starting pay for more experienced lifeguards
• CA labor laws and overtime rules are followed.
