Our lessons are designed as a progression of skills that create a foundation for great swimming.  Each level is divided into a 4-6 concise skills that allow swimmers to learn and advance quickly.  The skills learned in one level provide the foundation for subsequent levels.

All of our instructors are trained to utilize a variety of different techniques to instruct and reinforce the skills we teach. Equipment, demonstrations, and games will be used regularly to encourage the growth and development of your child’s swimming.

Below is a description of the levels in our lessons program. These written descriptions include all the skills our instructors will cover over the course of a session. A student’s mastery of the listed skills will determine their readiness to advance to the next level.  All swimmers learn at different rates.  Some swimmers may advance within a session, while others may spend multiple sessions mastering the skills in a single level.  This is okay as we work with our swimmers to learn and feel successful in the water.

About Our Lessons

  • Each of our class levels are designed with a limited number of concise skills to allow our students to develop competencies quickly and in a focused way.
  • Classes of 30 minutes provide the best chances of maintaining the focus and attention of young swimmers.
  • Our class structure is designed for advancement.  As soon as a swimmer masters the skills in a class level they will move the next level.  This means a swimmer may only spend 2 or 3 classes in a level before moving to the next class  This system offers the following benefits;
  • It allows everyone to progress at their own pace.
  • Swimmers are recognized immediately for their accomplishments and gain a sense of confidence in what they are learning.

Additional Information

  • All lessons will be held at Topspin Swim Club  (Woodlands Country Club Coming Soon!)
  • All fees must be paid at the time of registration.
  • Once a class is full, we will compile a waiting list.  We will add classes if there is enough demand, pool space, and available instructors.  Those on the waiting list will be given priority.
  • There will be no make-up classes, refunds, or pro-rated fees unless Topspin cancels a class.
  • Classes may be cancelled due to inclement weather, mechanical failures, or unforeseen conflicts.  Make up classes will be offered for these events whenever possible.
  • All additional family members will receive a $15 discount per session.
  • No discounts are available for private lessons.
