This is a quickly developing situation that has not only effected day to day life but also our swimming endeavors. We certainly respects the seriousness of this situation and will keep our member’s safety as a top priority. As many of you have heard, Age-Group Sectionals were cancelled within minutes of the meet start. In addition, USA Swimming has cancelled all events, camps, and meetings hosted by the national body, as well as strongly recommending all LSC's suspend all sanctioned meets for the next 30 Days.

South Carolina Swimming has made the decision to follow this guidance and cancel all sanctioned events (meets) for the next 30 days. The LSC has made the decision to suspend, camps, events, conferences or other occasion that requires individuals to gather for the next 30 days. South Carolina Swimming recommends that clubs suspend practice for the next 30 days. The LSC will continue to monitor this situation and encourages member clubs to do the same.

The Decision Making Process

This was an extremely difficult decision for the board of directors. Many are coaches, athletes, and parents. We realize the level of disappointment for our athletes that have trained all season and are missing championship opportunities. However the rapid development of this situation required us to make some tough decisions and follow the lead of many sporting organizations, business leaders, and our national governing body.

All-State Registrants

South Carolina Swimming has made the difficult decision to cancel all events associated with All-State weekend due to the Coronavirus. We are saddened to not be able to properly honor our top swimmers in the way they deserve and have become accustomed. We will be putting the banquet program together and will post it on the website for viewing and we will work with the club coaches to ensure that swimmers receive their All-State gift and awards.

Our Treasurer, Joyce Dodd, will begin the process of refunding All-State registration money today. Please allow at least 15 business days to receive your refund.

Please remember to cancel any hotel reservations you made in conjunction with the event. If you have any questions, please let me know.
