When the water settled and the chlorine haze cleared at the 2010 Older Spring JOs this past weekend, Team Santa Monica (TSM) took eighth as a combined team, just one point of Boulder City Henderson (BCH) Heatwave in ninth, and 120 points behind Rose Bowl who took seventh.  Below are some summary notes as well as a link to the individual and relay results 13 individual scorers with 13 swims placing in the Top 8. 18 scoring relays with 9 placing in the Top 8.  JO individual and relay results report

Thanks to all those who participated as either a volunteer, competitor or cheerleader during out Short Course Mini meet.  We look forward to doing it again in the summer.  Enjoy the attached pictures.  Results to follow shortly.

For those interested to see how TSM alum Andi Murez is doing as a collegiate swimmer, she will be competing in the following meets locally this weekend 1/29-30 with her Stanford teammates Friday 1/29: UCLA @ 2pm Saturday 1/30: USC @ Noon If you're available, feel free to check out the meets and give Andi a little extra TSM love.

For the second time this year, a contingent of TSM swimmers managed to get the best of both the Santa Maria and Bakersfield Swim Clubs.  TSM was unable to catch up to Clovis Swim Club and concluded this Saturday's competition with a 2-1 record.  Thanks to all of the parents who made the event run smoothly, and to the swimmers for competing with pride in your home pool. 2000 Olympian Maddy Crippen and her brother Fran, a 2007 Pan Am Gold Medalist, will visit with TSM starting Friday, February 12, and will stay through Saturday the 13th.  They will conduct a number of clinics with swimmers and take time to talk with parents about their careers as a part of USA Swimming.  Below is the schedule of events and career highlight information on both swimmers.  Stay tuned for location details as they are confirmed. Thanks to a grant from the California Endowment, authored by TSM swimmer Isabel Casso, TSM is offering a scholarship to swimmers of African American and Latino descent to promote diversity in swimming and the participation in a healthy lifestyle.  A link to the application can be found below.  Interested parties should complete the application and return by the January 18th due date.  If you know of eligible candidates, please feel free to print the application and pass it along. The TSM contingent of forty-one swimmers that competed in the Winter Age Group Championships this past weekend hosted by the Clark County Sandpipers, came home with a fourth place finish in the Combined team scores.  The ladies finished third while the gentlemen placed seventh.  Congratulations to all of those who endured the weather and indoor conditions and represented the team admirably.
