Shark Water Polo Programs

Water Polo Leagues:  Water Polo Leagues compete each season of the year with various age groups and divisions (a little different each season).  Which will also include different practice locations throughout CFISD pools.

Age Groups: CFWPC age groups follow the USA Water Polo age divisions.  There are various competitive levels and programs.

  • High School - 9th-12th Grade Athletes, 18U and 16U Age Groups
  • 8th Grade & Under - 8th/6th Grade & Younger, 14U, 12U, and 10U Age Groups

Fall/ Winter, and Spring Seasons (the school year), age groups are based on an athlete’s year in school (Example:  8th Grade & Under).

Summer League and JO Academy, age groups are determined by their age (18U, 16U, 14U, 12U, 10U).  An athlete’s age each summer is determined by their age on August 1st.  For example an athlete who turns 17 on June 29th, their age for the entire summer season will be 17 and that athletes would be placed in the 18U Age Group.

Practice Locations:  We have various pools; CFISD Nat, Cy Ranch, Bridgeland and a Conditioning Pool for the summer.

Practice Frequency: Generally, we have always tried to accommodate athletes and their families commitments. We have server athletes that participate in other sports and clubs. Training sessions can be broken down by skill or commitment . We offer two programs during the Summer; Summer League and JO Academy while our Fall/ Winter and Spring Session we offer 4 options for both High School; 4 days or 2 days. For 8th grade and under 4 days and 2 days. For the ones choosing  2 day option; athletes are entitled to train on the days of their choice.

Additionally, there will be opportunities for common training for all the athletes.  Common training is an opportunity for players to train together within their own gender and age groups. These trainings are some of the most important to attend, as you will be with all of the players from your age group in addition to your head coach for each age group. These trainings are held periodically each season.

Summer League Game Days:  Water Polo athletes will play, practice, and compete throughout the summer in an atmosphere that promotes self-esteem, physical fitness, teamwork and respect for others. As part of the seasonal dues, athletes will compete in three separate game days and one Championship Game.  Game Days and Championship Game take place on Fridays.  Athletes will be assigned to a team based on their skill and age.

Tournaments:  Are a vital part of our training, we train and condition to compete. We encourage all Sharks to participate in local and state tournaments. Register under the Event tap to declare your willing to participation. Once we have enough athletes to compete a few team we will open registration and announce payment deadlines.
