At this stage children are expected to show more commitment to training. Aim is to begin instal positive training habits and discipline. Main focus remains developing efficient technique and competition skills. Age: 8 – 10 years old. 3 training sessions a week, (2 x 60 minutes and 1 x 90 minutes). Total 3.5 hours swimming. Competition experience – Club Championship, Development Galas, School Galas. Competition Events – 50s, 100s all strokes, 100 and 200 IM. Training distances: 25s to 200 meters focus on developing stroke technique, swimming with ease and efficiency, racing starts, correct turns and finishes. Kit requirements: Cap, Goggles, kick board, pull buoy, fins, water bottle.
