Mixed Duet
The addition of the Mixed Duet to our program was well received by the audience, officials and athletes. The entries of Bill May & Kanako Spendlove from the USA as well as Alberto Pinto & Milagro Meneses from Panama added fabulous performances to our competition. Coaches were also able to benefit from Instruction on Mixed Duet presented by Coach Chris Carver from the USA during our competition de-briefing.
Suggestions for Future Competitions
As the UANA TSSC we are always looking for ways to improve our competitions to ensure that they are efficient, transparent to all attendees and provide the best schedule of events for the athletes. Some suggestions put forth by TSSC Members are as follows:
-
Combine or have more back to back events if there are few entries in certain categories.
-
Use flashcards to flash marks for figures and have recorders document the scores to make it easier for them to be entered by the scorers.
-
Have finals only events for categories with fewer than 12 competitors.
-
Attempt to have separate Judges, Scoring, and TSSC rooms when possible at hosting
facilities.
-
Change the arrival of the TSSC to two days prior to the Technical Meeting to allow for finalization of competition organizational details.
-
Make use of electronic scoreboards in facilities when available.
-
In the future we would like to use a TSSC member to oversee the collection and organization of chits from routines to ensure that they are in the correct order when presented to the scorers.
Special Thanks to Errol Clarke and Mel Goldstein for taking care of the TSSC payments for their air travel and to our Hosts for a wonderful Competition in beautiful Puerto Rico.
Respectfully,
Rose Cody
Chair, UANA TSSC
