Training Groups

Swim Melbourne provides a developmental program that starts at 6 years old.  As swimmers get faster, they will move up through the different levels and practice with teammates of the same caliber.  We split Swim Melbourne into 5 training groups:

Development

The Development Group is the pre-competitive age group team at Swim Melbourne. Requirements: Swimmers must be able to comfortably swim across the pool (25 yards). This group focuses on learning all four strokes, technique, kicking, starts, turns and how to race.  Swimmers will be focusing on swimming 25s and 50s. Athletes entering this group display a desire to swim with their friends and swim fast. Swimmers from the Development group graduate into Swim Melbourne's Age Group teams.
