Angie Carter [email protected]

As Head Coach, Angie Carter brings years of swim experience to the CHRISTUS program.  She began her swim career in Knoxville, TN at age 7, swimming summer league and with Pilot Aquatic Club.   After a family move to Fort Myers, FL she began training with Swim Florida under Coach Mac Kennedy and was a junior national qualifier.  In college, she swam at the University of Tennessee; earning a degree in Sport Management.

Angie started coaching at the summer league level in 2008 when her kids joined the sport.  While maintaining her connection with summer league she quickly moved to a developmental position and eventually to Associate Head Coach with CHRISTUS Louisiana Aquatics.  CLA began in 2013 as a new team with 40 swimmers and soon grew to 170 swimmers and a 3rd place finish at the 2015 12&Under State Meet. In it's young history, CLA boasts State Champions, State Record Holders, Sectional Finalists and swimmers going on the compete at the college level.  In 2018, CLA started fresh with a focused group of athletes and maintains it's mission to develop swimmers at all levels, incorporating HARD work, FAST swimming, and FUN.

Her experience training, competing and coaching the sport, along with her creativity, energy and passion for investing in the lives of people is an incredible asset to the CHRISTUS program.  She is married to fellow University of Tennessee swimmer, Steve Carter and they have 2 children, Grace and Graham.
