GERM Update - June 22, 2020

Mark Walters

Quince Orchard is not open yet.  Repairs and improvements are being made to pass inspection.  More news when we have it.

As soon as we can have 2 swimmers per lane we expect to get almost all interested swimmers in the water for some workouts.  When we can have 3 we should be able to get all swimmers in, for as many workouts per week as desired.  Right now we're at 1 swimmer per lane.

The summer schedule, which is slightly different from the 2019 schedule, is posted on the website.  That schedule is firm.

Swimmers in the weekday morning workouts will notice that there is a 10-minute gap between the end of the workouts that start at 5:00 a.m. and the start of the workouts that start at 6:20 a.m.  This is to alow the early group to clear the pool and the grounds without contacting the late group either in the pool or on deck.

There will be no changing or showering in QO's locker rooms.  The toilets will be available if necessary.

The next update may announce the date of QO's opening and a very quick deadline for registration.  If we can have 3 or more swimmers per lane at that time, registration may be flexible and allow swimmers to just come when they want (our normal situation).  If it is 2 or less per lane, you can expect to register for fixed workouts in a staggered process that accomodates our original waiver-willing list for 24 hours, then goes quickly through the wait list where decisions will have to be made promptly.

Hang in there.  We can't say when, but we will have team workouts again.
