Coaches and Directors
I
grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. My mom put me in swim lessons
before I could walk. I began swimming for a local summer team at
age seven. My favorite stroke when I was young was
breastroke. I swam competitively through high school and also
college at the University of Virginia. I swam the 200 butterfly and
the 500, 1000 and1650 freestyle. My second year in college we won
our school's first ACC conference championship.
I am
married and have 3 daughters. I enjoy biking, running, hiking and
being outside. I have been coaching swimming for 8
years. I am also the dryland coach for the Palmyra high
school swim team, the assistant cross country coach for the high
school team, and a spin instructor at Paramount Sports
Complex.
My love of swimming started when I watched my best friend in her
first meet back in 2001. From that moment I decided to join the
Palmyra Aquatic Club at age 9. I competed with PAC during the
winter and summer seasons until I graduated high school. Throughout
my high school years I attended Bishop McDevitt High School and
swam on the high school team all four years. My favorite events
were the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM.
I attended college at Lock Haven University and swam for LHU all
four years, qualifying for PSAC my junior and senior year. My best
events in college were the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly. I
graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
After graduation I moved back home and worked as a
Therapeutic Support Staff before starting my job at the Vista
School in Hershey last October. When not on the pool deck, I
enjoy reading, watching Netflix, cleaning and listening to music. I
also enjoy hanging out with my family, my fiance, Joel and my
friends.
My
love of water began at a very young age. I started swimming on the
summer swim team at the age of five when I had gotten tired of
watching swim meets. I have been obsessed with the water ever
since. I mostly swam freestyle, butterfly and the IM. In high
school I played field hockey and softball along with swimming. I
then attended Misericordia University where I continued my swimming
career. My senior year I received the coach's award.
When
not at the pool, I work as an Occupational Therapist for Derry
Township School District. My husband and I have two children,
Addisan and Ryan. I have been with the Palmyra Aquatic Club since
2002. From 2004-2009 I also coached the Palmyra High School
Team.
I started swimming at 5 years old with PAC and graduated from Palmyra in 2004. I continued to swim in college at Misericordia University for all 4 years. My events of choice were 100, 200 backstroke and 400 IM.
I grew up in Palmyra and have loved the water since I was very young. I started swimming for PAC in elementary school, took a brief hiatus when my family moved to China for 3 1/2 years and continued swimming again starting my Sophomore year for both PAC and the Palmyra High School team. I attended Shippensburg University, swimming all four years there, was co-captain my senior year, and helped lead our team to its highest finish in over 20 years (2nd place). My best events were the 100 and 200 breaststroke, I also swam both the 200 and 400 IM. I have a Bachelors in Communication and Masters in Business Administration both from Shippensburg.
I am married and have a son. When not at the pool I run a family property ownership and management company, enjoy hanging out with family and friends, and spending time at the beach.
