Coach Chris started the Emory Community/Clairmont Cudas 14 years ago. He has grown the team from 8 swimmers in that first summer of 2004 to over 200 swimmers in 2016. He has helped lead the Cudas to six undefeated dual meet seasons in those years. The Cudas finished 2016 with 4 wins and 1 loss in dual meets and third overall in the Atlanta Swimming Association (ASA) Championships out of 120 teams.  The Cudas have been the highest finisher of any DeKalb County teams for the past 3 years at the ASA Championships since joining the league.


His experience coaching is on a multitude of levels: summer league, collegiate and masters swimming.


Chris swam two years at NCAA Division I Lehigh University (PA) before transferring to NCAA Division I Florida State University. He earned four varsity letters in high school at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida.


With Marshall on the Emory University coaching staff, the Emory women's team has won National Championships in 2005 - 2006, and 2010 - 2017 and te Emory men's team winning their first National Championship in 2017. Neither Emory women's nor men's team has finished worse than fourth nationally since he came to the school.

Chris graduated from Florida State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering. He later earned a Master's of Science degree in manufacturing engineering from FSU in 1997.
