Group Descriptions, Requirements, and Equipment 

Explorer Group

  • Description:  Swimmers in this group are transitioning from swimming lessons to explore the world of competitive swimming.  EXP Group is designed for new 7-over swimmers making the transition from swimming lessons, or swimmers moving up from the  Discovery group. Sometimes, depending on numbers, the group will be organized by age with an A and B sub-group.
  • Requirements:    attend at least 2 practices per week; swim meets are optional but highly encouraged.
  • Equipment:  Fins, Mesh Bag, Water Bottle, Kickboard

Imagination Group 

  • Description:  Swimmers in this group begin to imagine the possibilities of what swimming can offer them.  Anything is possible! IMG group is designed for swimmers who are become more focused on swimming.  Swimmers are honing the proper mechanics of each stroke and learning fundamentals of competitive swimming training.
  • Requirements:   attend at least 3 practices per week.
  • Equipment:  Fins, Mesh Bag, Water Bottle, Kickboard, Paddles, Pull Buoy, and (snorkel optional)

Voyager Group 

  • Description:  The Voyager swimmers are making the commitment to the journey of competitive swimming.  How big are your dreams? 
  • VOY group is designed for swimmers that are committed to achieving higher levels and maximizing their efforts and attitude during practice.
  • Requirements:  attend at least 3 practices per week, 4 preferred.  Meets are highly encouraged. 
  • Equipment:  Fins, Paddles, Mesh Bag, Water Bottle, Kickboard, Snorkel, Pull Buoy.

Legacy Group 

  • Description:  Swimmers in this group have embraced the journey and desire to leave an impact on our sport.  They are the leaders of the program (and are held accountable as such) and pave the way for future generations of Park City Swimming.   Swimmers in this group are training for the future and for the highest level of competitions.
  • Requirements: attend 4 practices per week; 5 preferrable. If in this group, swimmers should be attending meets.
  • Equipment:  Fins, Catalyst Paddles, Mesh Bag, Snorkel, Pull Buoy, Water Bottle, Kickboard (Agility Paddles optional)

Equipment and Apparel Info

If your swimmer wears a swim cap, it must be a team cap.  We are proud to be PCS!!!  Training equipment and some apparel is available on the team store.  Check out the SkiPro logo at the bottom of the home page.  Also, Park City Swimming does team orders once each season where new t-shirts, personalized caps, and other new team apparel can be ordered, so watch for emails!

Important Practice Information

  • Be on time - this helps practice run smoothly!
  • Be prepared - make sure you have all the necessary equipment!  
  • Have a good attitude - come prepared to learn, have fun, work hard.  
  • Be a team player!
