Dear Parents –

PC Swimming is in desperate need of officials, both Administrative Officials (computer/timing) and Stroke and Turn Official (on-deck). Our current officials are all parents of the Senior group swimmers and have limited time left with our club. We need to plan now so we are able to continue to hold home meets and guarantee entry into some of our away meets. The process is not difficult, but takes 2-6 months to complete all of the steps.

The first step to becoming an official is to attend a virtual Utah Swimming Officials Clinic. Clinics are infrequently offered so PLEASE attend the next clinic:

  • April 12th, 2023 at 6:30p.m. - Administrative Officials clinic - RSVP [email protected]
    • Josh and Kate Taylor have been our only 2 AO officials for the past several years and have a succession plan to start training at least 2 new AO officials now.
  •  April 13th, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. - Stroke and Turn Officials - RSVP [email protected]
    •  Heidi Lane and Jamie Elgie are our only 2 Stroke and Turn Officials. This is not sustainable. We should have at least 6 for a club our size.

Benefits to you as a parent: Best seat in the house, rewarding contribution, counts toward team volunteer commitment, fees associated with becoming an official are reimbursed by PC Swimming and meet entries are often waived for your swimmer for the meets you work.
