Dani Caldwell Director, Royals 2/Stingrays 1

Coach Dani has been coaching for over 20 years on USA-Swimming club teams.  In 2006 she and her husband, Adam, took over a local team and started building SUSA.

Dani and her husband, Adam, have three children.  If she's away from the pool, she is probably traveling with family.  She has visited over 60 countries on 6 continents.  In addition to coaching year-round for SUSA, she was the head coach for 11 years of DHHS, PVHS and Hurricane HS.  While she coached high school, her girls won a 4A State title and she was a 5-Time Coach of the Year recipient.

Her greatest reward comes when she can help your swimmers achieve their highest potential.  Dani has coached swimmers to  the national level, State Championships and has helped swimm ers  realize their goals and dreams.  She loves seeing the look on their faces when they accomplish something they didn't think was possible.

Shawn King Lead Coach (SHAC) Nat-D, S2

Returning to southern Utah in 2016, Coach Shawn has been instrumental in creating a culture of excellence at SUSA.  He began his coaching career over 12 years ago, with experience coaching in Texas, Idaho, Utah, Illinois, and Florida.  Shawn has coached all levels of kids from developmental to the national level of USA Swimming. Most importantly, Coach Shawn cares about his athletes as people and drives them to be successful and accountable in all areas of their lives.  During his time in southern Utah, Coach Shawn has coached national qualifiers, dozens of Utah club state champions, and individual and relay Utah Swimming state record holders. 

In other areas of swimming, Coach Shawn has returned to his college alma matter as the Assistant Coach for the Dixie State University Women's Swimming team. Coach Shawn's work with the Division I collegiate program serves as an added benefit to his athletes, as he is able to help guide them through their growing careers with perspective and experience.

Coach Shawn served as the head coach for Desert Hills, Pine View and Crimson Cliffs High Schools in St. George from 2016-2020.  In four seasons, he led his teams to five 4A State titles and has been Coach of the Year three times.  Coach Shawn has been instrumental in developing the overall Men’s Utah high school state record holding 200 and 400 freestyle relays.  He has coached multiple state champions, state record holders, All-American swimmers and Division I and Division II collegiate athletes. Shawn is currently certified as an ASCA Level 3 coach for high school and USA Senior swimming. 

Coach Shawn has contributed to building swimming culture in southern Utah by developing a group of highly motivated 18 and over athletes who form the SUSA Masters team at Sand Hollow.  Shawn's masters have won multiple Huntsman World Senior Games titles, placed in the top 10 at the USMS Spring Nationals, and have placed on the annual Top 10 list for US Masters swimming, including multiple 1st place finishes nationally for short course meters.

Coach Shawn graduated from DSU with a degree in Psychology.  His favorite part of coaching is going through the process of setting goals with his swimmers and aiding them in achieving those goals. 

Shawn is happily married to his wife, Heather.  Together they have 4 amazing boys.

Faith Purdy Royals 1, Pre-comp

Coach Faith is orginally from Ogden, Utah where she swam for Ben Lomond HS for 5 years.  Her desire to coach came when she was able to peer coach her high school team.  She is driven by swimmers improve and loves to help them achieve their goals.  Before coming to SUSA, Faith taught swim lessons for two years and has a passion for teaching proper technique.  She is looking forward to coaching your kids!  

Coach Faith currently attends DSU and is majoring in art.  In her spare timeshe sculpts, hikes and can eat sushi -- anytime, anywhere!

Lexie Dunn (Taylor) SR-D, Royals 1, Pre-Comp

Coach Lexie comes to SUSA as an experienced athlete, competing for 3 years for Dixie State University Women’s Swimming Team.  She is passionate about working with kids and using her experience to help them improve and progress.  Her desire to help athletes continues in her education at DSU, where she is pursuing a degree in exercise science and foundational work for physical therapy.

Lexie grew up in Queen Creek, Arizona, is the oldest (and parental favorite) of 5 children and loves boneless cooked chicken in any form.
