The purpose of the blue and red teams is to develop and introduce young athletes to the skills of swimming.

Training Philosophy: The team is focused on the continued development of the foundational skills of all four competitive strokes: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly. The swimmers will be introduced to basic skills or open turns, flip turns, and racing dive starts.

Meet Attendance: Swimmers are expected to attend our monthly pre-comp swimming meets held at our own facility. They are usually scheduled for the 4th Thursday of each month. Competition at this level is no mandatory.  Coaches will work with each swimmer to determine which events they will swim at each competition. These meets have been planned by the coaching staff and have been placed inside the training plan, making them important to attend as a progression of the training plan.

Goal Setting: In order to create an effective training plan, it is important that coaches and swimmers know where swimmers want to be. Goal setting is the process we use to determine where each swimmer wants to be in the short and long term.
