The Rockbridge Pie Festival

Each year the Rockbridge Aquatics Center and FOR Swimming host the annual Rockbridge Pie Festival to raise money for swim programs including water safety lessons and more. This event occurs each September. Members and supporters of the Rockbridge Aquatics Center come together to bake hundreds of pies to sell in order to fundraise for the pool. This great event brings the community of Rockbridge together to celebrate and enjoy delicious food with friends.

One of our biggest fundraisers is the Swim-A-Thon. Each year, we ask swimmers from the STORM and the Rockbridge County High School team to participate by swimming laps for donations. Swimmers from our teams reach out to family, friends, neighbors, and businesses to pledge either a fixed amount or a variable amount based on how many laps they swim.

This fundraiser serves as our annual campaign and provides the much-needed funds to improve our facility. In 2019, these funds will be directed to repair the bathroom floors, install relay start timing pads, and update our meet software. The funds that we raised through the 2018 Swim-a-thon helped us repair the revolving door, paint the facility, and regrade the parking lot.

FOR Swimming, a registered 501(c)(3), is the organization that oversees the operation of the Rockbridge Aquatics Center. If you would like to find out more information about FOR swimming, the programs that we offer, and our local impact statement, please see the attached document.
