Leslie Ayers - Head Coach


Leslie Ayers is a USA swimming certified coach, she holds a level 4 American Swim Coach Association certification, former Total Immersion Coach, and the head coach for the Rockbridge County High School swim team. In 2005 she spearheaded the fundraising and building of what is now the Rockbridge Aquatics Center. Under her management the Aquatic Center offers swim teams, summer camps, lifeguard certification, and opportunities for swimmers of all ages to participate in water fitness. She has created and implemented an impressive swim lesson curriculum that has helped thousands of children in Rockbridge County become water safe.





Morgan Richter - Assistant Coach

Morgan Richter is entering his second year of coaching with STORM. Originally from Texas, Morgan is currently in his third year at Washington & Lee’s School of Law. At Goucher College, Morgan was a four-year collegiate swimmer, earning both All-American and Academic All-American accolades.Morgan began coaching as a young swimmer with his club team, Cleburne Swim Team. Since then, he has worked with a multitude of teams, coaching swimmers of all different ages and levels of experience.Although Morgan does not spend as much time swimming as he should, he is very passionate about any opportunity to spend time at the pool coaching. He is looking forward to spending another season with STORM.





Elle Boyd - Assistant Coach

Elle Boyd, currently a sophomore at Washington and Lee University, joins us from Corpus Christi, Texas, where she swam competitively for ten years. With the Coastal Bend Allstars club swim team, Elle was the first female swimmer from Corpus Christi to medal in seven events at the Texas Age Group Swim Meet in 2011.  At the age of twelve, Elle achieved her first Sectionals time cut and was selected to swim on the South Texas Zone Team. Elle also held a total of 16 summer league records in Corpus Christi. As a member of the King High School swim team, she achieved District Swimmer of the Year all four year (2015-2018), Regional Swimmer of the Year in 2018, and qualified for the Texas UIL State Meet in the 200 freestyle & 100 fly in 2017 as well as the 100 free & 100 back in 2018. She also holds the District records in the 200 free and 100 fly. 

Having grown up on the Gulf Coast, Elle believes that water safety skills are important. Since the summer of 2016, she has worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor to children ages 2 to 15, first at the Santa Fe Swim Club and then at the Jewish Community Center's Preschool Summer Camp for the past two summers. Additionally, Elle coached the Alice Barracudas summer league swim team in 2018, taking several relay teams and individual swimmers ages 5 to 18 to the TAAF State Games of Texas. Elle enjoys sharing her love of the water with others and looks forward to getting involved with swimming in Rockbridge County. 


Cate Hofley - Assistant Coach

Cate is originally from Birmingham, Michigan. She grew up swimming for the Birmingham Blue Dolphins as well has her    high school and summer league teams. When not on the pool deck Cate attends Washington and Lee University where    she is in her freshman year studying engineering. Cate started coaching for a club in her summer league when she was 16. There she developed a passion for coaching  and has loved inspiring young swimmers to work hard in and out of the pool.  Cate has coached swimmers from age 3 to 18 and loves working on IM skills. As a swimmer she excelled in 500 Free  and 200/400 IM. This has led to her expertise in these areas. Cate is excited to have a fun and successful season with the STORM team!
