STORM Swim Team 

Winter 2023

We are excited to announce our Winter STORM options. Our official Winter season will begin on January 9 with the Age Group team while the RCHS team is finishing their season. At the conclusion of the RCHS season, we will add Purple Team to the schedule in late February.
 
To bridge the gap between the end of the fall session (November 18) and the holidays, we are also offering an optional add on for our Age Group swimmers who want to keep practicing between holidays. From November 28 to December 15, Age Group swimmers can participate in the Monday-Thursday 5:30 practices for a fee of $75.   Please note that in order to hold this offering we will need at least 10 swimmers participating. 
 
November/December 
**Optional Add On for Age Group Swimmers only ***   November 28 - December 15: Monday - Thursday from 5:30 - 6:30 pm (Cost per swimmer, $75) 

Winter Schedule 
Age Group   (January 9 to March 23): Monday - Thursday from 5:30 - 6:30 pm (Cost per swimmer $250)
Purple Team (February 27 - April 6): Tuesday & Thursday from 5:30-6:15pm (Cost per swimmer $165) 

A note about USA Registration: USA Swimming now requires registration through their own website. As a reminder, USA Swimming registration is the annual cost that swimmers pay to participate in USA Swimming sanctioned meets and be insured for their participation as a member of STORM. Due to this change, starting back in the fall we removed the USA fee from our STORM registration process. You will now need to renew and add your swimmers directly using USA Swimming's website.   We require USA Swimming registration for all swimmers who participate in Age Group & Advanced Age Group. Purple Team swimmers only need a valid USA registration if they plan to compete in swim meets. 
 
Age group swimmers who register for the Winter Season will need to either renew or create a new registration with USA swimming before practices begin in January.   Swimmers over the age of 12 or who wish to participate in championship level meets should select Premium registration. Swimmers 12 and under and those who do not wish to participate in championship meets may choose the Flex option.

Rockbridge Storm is a club swimming team affiliated with USA Swimming. We offer instruction, training and competition for swimmers in the Rockbridge area.

Storm’s mission is to provide a quality swim program for swimmers of all ages and abilities by providing professional instruction in an innovative, goal-oriented environment. The coaching staff endeavors to teach, train and motivate swimmers to achieve their ultimate potential in swimming in the belief that this experience will prove valuable to them as they grow and develop. STORM is committed to providing a safe environment for all participants. To do so we have athlete protection policies and guidelines in place in accordance with USA Swimming best practices.

Storm strives to instill an appreciation for personal accountability, self-motivation, goal setting and goal achievement in its swimmers. It is our belief that the process of achieving is as significant as the achievement itself.

The team competes in local and regional competitions sanctioned by United States Swimming Inc., the national governing body for amateur swimming. 

Practice Groups & Information

Purple Team: This group is appropriate for swimmers transitioning from swim lessons or those who are still mastering freestyle, backstroke, and beginning to learn breaststroke and butterfly. Ages 7 - 10 unless otherwise approved by instructors. Before registering, please ensure your swimmer has been evaluated before registering.

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 - 6:15 pm

Cost: $275

Age Group: 11 and under swimmers This group is designed for swimmers who have mastered all four competitive strokes including breast and fly. Age Group Swimmers will continue to develop their practice and competition skills in an hour long practice 2-4 days per week. Ages 8 - 14 unless otherwise approved by instructors. Swimmers may choose 2, 3, or 4 practices per week. 

Schedule: Monday through Thursday 5:30 - 6:30 pm

Cost: 2 practices per week for $250

Fall Team: 12 and older swimmers

Schedule: Monday - Friday 4:00 - 5:30 pm 

Cost: $350
